Asus announces ROG Xbox Ally X20 with OLED upgrades

Asus has revealed the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a refreshed handheld gaming PC featuring an OLED display and improved controls.

The announcement came on June 1 for a device set to launch during the holiday season later this year. It expands the screen to 7.4 inches with 1080p HDR support, up to 1400 nits brightness, Dolby Vision, and a 120 Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium Pro. Magnetic TMR thumbsticks replace older components to reduce drift, while a new convertible D-pad adds flexibility. The device comes bundled exclusively with Xreal R1 AR glasses that create a virtual 171-inch display via USB connection. Internal specifications remain unchanged from the prior model. No standalone pricing or availability details have been released, though the bundle is positioned as a limited 20th anniversary edition.
