A recent survey by OCTA Research found that 71 percent of Filipinos believe joint military exercises in the West Philippine Sea will benefit the country.
The survey conducted from March 19 to 25 and commissioned by the Armed Forces of the Philippines showed 71 percent support. Fourteen percent said the exercises would be harmful while seven percent saw no effect. It had 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of plus or minus three percent. The results were released upon the AFP's request. OCTA Research said the findings carry implications for defense policy and pointed to a need for more inclusive public communication across regions.
