Hong Kong expands Southbound Travel Scheme to five more cities

Hong Kong will extend its Southbound Travel Scheme to five additional Greater Bay Area cities and double the daily quota for urban trips starting July 25.

The scheme will now cover motorists from Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou and Zhaoqing in addition to the four cities already eligible. Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan said the scheme has been implemented in a prudent and orderly manner and has achieved readiness for further gradual expansion. The daily quota for trips to Hong Kong urban areas will rise to 200 from 100 starting July 25. The government aims to attract more mainland tourists to support economic growth and integration.
