The Ripoll town hall budgets were definitively approved in Wednesday's plenary session thanks to the abstention of Junts councilors.
The plenary rejected the PSC amendments with 7 votes in favor, 3 abstentions from Junts and 6 votes against from ERC, CUP and PSC. The amendments aimed to reverse the prior approval of the accounts.
The allegations had been introduced by a new PSC councilor before taking office. In April the previous socialist councilors had already abstained, triggering an internal crisis that led to resignations and party intervention.
If the amendments had passed the budget would have needed a new approval process and mayor Sílvia Orriols could have activated a confidence vote.
