More than 100 officers secure atypical elections in Gigante

Authorities deployed more than 100 officers to ensure security during the atypical elections this Sunday in the municipality of Gigante, Huila.

The operation was coordinated by the Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil and the Policía Nacional, along with other entities. The officers are stationed at voting posts, main roads and strategic points in the municipality. The measure aims to accompany the process before, during and after voting to prevent disruptions to public order. Authorities called on citizens to participate responsibly and report any irregularities. The election will determine the new mayor of Gigante following the call for atypical polls.
