Neuberg Diagnostics founder honoured as Super Chennai icon of the month

G.S.K. Velu, founder and chairman of Neuberg Diagnostics, was named Super Chennai’s Icon of the Month at an evening event called Super Chennai Arattai.

The gathering on May 23 brought together entrepreneurs, students, professionals and aspiring change makers in Chennai. Velu was recognised for his work in advancing innovative healthcare solutions.

In his remarks, Velu noted that the medical system is shifting from treatment-focused models to ones centred on prediction, prevention and early intervention. He highlighted that nearly 80 per cent of medical devices in India are imported and called for greater domestic innovation and manufacturing.

Velu said stronger collaboration between healthcare, technology, research and manufacturing could help India become a global leader in med-tech. Ranjeeth Rathod, managing director of Super Chennai, also spoke at the event.

A book covering management dimensions of healthcare in India was launched in Chennai on Saturday. The 15th Tamil Nadu State Deaf Chess Championship took place on January 25 at The Clarke School for the Deaf in Mylapore. Around 100 players from 10 districts competed in sub-junior, junior, and senior categories.
