Golkar faction urges government to involve logistics drivers in zero ODOL policy

The Golkar Party faction in Indonesia's parliament received input from logistics driver groups on the Over Dimension Over Loading policy during a meeting in Jakarta.

The meeting took place on Thursday, 21 May 2026, at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta. Four members of Commission V from the Golkar Party faction attended alongside representatives from six logistics driver organizations.

Ika Rostianti, chair of Rumah Berdaya Pengemudi Indonesia, said drivers often become downstream victims in ODOL policy implementation. She noted that decisions on excess loads are usually made by cargo owners and transport companies.

Hamka B Kady stated that parliament has not received official coordination from the government on follow-up to the zero ODOL policy scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2027. The Golkar faction considers driver organization involvement essential to account for the fate of millions in the logistics sector.
