Bennett Shaw, a former Nike Basketball designer, has shared details of a never-released sneaker concept called the '13 Regrets' Pack. The project drew inspiration from Kobe Bryant's 1996 NBA Draft experience.
Shaw posted images and background on the concept nearly seven years after its development. It centers on the 13 teams that passed on Bryant in the draft before the Charlotte Hornets selected him 13th overall and traded his rights to the Los Angeles Lakers. The idea emerged during a 2018 lunch meeting in Los Angeles between Bryant, his agent and Nike staff. Shaw recalled that Bryant proposed the '13 Regrets' theme while discussing future colorways and campaigns. The pack never reached stores, though Shaw released a first look along with internal technical documents. The concept ties into the broader Kobe sneaker line, which includes an upcoming Kobe 4 'Draft Day' Pack.
