Wakazi wa Lamu na wanaharakati wameitaka serikali kutekeleza amri ya Mahakama Kuu iliyosimamisha marufuku ya safari za usiku iliyodumu kwa miaka tisa.

Mahakama Kuu ya Garsen ilisitisha utekelezaji wa marufuku hiyo Alhamisi iliyopita. Amri hiyo ilitokana na kesi iliyowasilishwa na wakazi 24 na wanaharakati wakiwemo Bubakar Mohamed Twalib na Hussein Khalid.

Jumanne mabasi na malori yalifunga makutano ya Minjila wakipinga vizuizi vya saa kumi na mbili jioni hadi saa moja asubuhi. Mamia ya abiria walikwama huku madereva wakidai kuwa hakuna tangazo jipya la serikali kurejesha marufuku hiyo baada ya muda wake kumalizika Oktoba 2017.

Mohamed Skanda alisema kukaidi amri ya mahakama ni dharau kwa sheria. Wakazi walisema vizuizi hivyo vimeathiri uchumi hasa uvuvi na utalii pamoja na huduma za dharura za afya.
