PAN closes ranks with Maru Campos amid Morena push

The PAN leadership backed Chihuahua governor María Eugenia Campos at an event in the Chihuahua Exhibition and Convention Center.

PAN leader Jorge Romero stated they would defend Campos “hasta donde tope” if Morena tried to touch her. Former presidents Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón, along with Xóchitl Gálvez, attended the event where chants of “no estás sola” and “fuera Morena” were heard.

Campos accused Morena of building a “totalitarismo” to hand power over to organized crime. Calderón noted sovereignty is defended with the strength of the state, not speeches.

Separately, Campos responded to an FGR summons by delivering a document rejecting appearance as a witness. Her lawyer Roberto Gil Zuarth explained they are challenging the citation as ambiguous and lacking proper grounds.
