The 232-meter structure over the Iaco River had been inaugurated in December 2023 at a cost of R$ 36 million. It was closed on Thursday (4) due to structural problems. The Acre government said it will sue the contractor based on Article 618 of the Civil Code, which holds the builder responsible for five years. Antônio Morais Lima Filho, 36, and Ednei Muniz dos Santos, 51, are stable. Edinaldo Muniz dos Santos, 54, remains in serious condition in the ICU. The Civil Police are investigating the causes with engineering experts. There are no missing persons. River navigation was halted due to debris.
