The 38th annual Premio Lo Nuestro awards ceremony took place on February 20, 2026, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, honoring Latin music across genres. Bad Bunny secured album of the year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos and song of the year for “DtMF,” while Romeo Santos won artist of the year in the tropical category and addressed his support for the Latino community. The event featured performances and special honors under the theme “Honrando lo que Somos.”
The Premio Lo Nuestro 2026 ceremony, cohosted by Thalia, Clarissa Molina, and Nadia Ferreira, aired live on Univision, UNIMÁS, and Galavisión, with streaming available on ViX. It opened with Marc Anthony and Nathy Peluso performing their collaboration “Como en el Idilio” for the first time live. Winners were announced starting on social media earlier in the day, with Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Carín León among early recipients.
The first onstage award went to Romeo Santos for artist of the year – tropical. In his acceptance speech, Santos clarified his position following criticism over comments on the Trump administration's deportation policies. “I won’t always have the perfect speech, and sometimes I’ll be asked questions that I won’t answer to meet everyone’s expectations, but my heart knows what it feels, and those who know me know that I’m always advocating for my Latino community,” he said. He added, “There is no organization or department of any kind that harms my Latino community that deserves my respect.”
In general categories, Bad Bunny also won artist of the year. Other highlights included “Brujería” by Yuridia and Majo Aguilar for best female combination, “Lost In Translation” by Carín León and Kacey Musgraves for crossover collaboration, and Shakira's Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour for tour of the year. Camila Fernández took female new artist of the year, and “Sonríele” by Daddy Yankee won in Christian music.
Urban categories saw Karol G win female artist of the year and “Latina Foreva” take urban song of the year. In pop, Cazzu won female artist, and “Bésame” by Alejandro Sanz and Shakira earned collaboration honors. Tropical awards went to Rauw Alejandro for song of the year with “Tú Con Él,” and Natti Natasha for album. Carín León dominated Mexican music as male artist of the year.
Special awards honored Juanes with lifetime achievement, Paloma San Basilio for excellence, Arcángel as urban icon, Los Bukis for musical legacy, and Manolo Díaz as visionary. Nominations, based on airplay from Uforia and Univision Radio, streaming data, and expert evaluation from September 30, 2024, to October 1, 2025, were led by Bad Bunny, Carín León, Myke Towers, and Rauw Alejandro with 10 each. Performers included Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, Juanes, Thalia, Maria Becerra, and Cristian Castro.
