The Calcutta High Court directed the state to inform TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee about pending complaints against him in police stations across West Bengal.
The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to provide details on the number of complaints pending against TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee in police stations statewide.
Banerjee, the Diamond Harbour MP, had petitioned the court for relief from what his counsel called unreasonable complaints filed since the change of government in the state. His counsel alleged the complaints were fueled by political vendetta and questioned the police role in registering them.
The hearing occurred on the same day Banerjee appeared before the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Bidhannagar Court to submit his voice sample in the 2026 Assembly poll intimidatory speech case.
