The Federal District Court of Justice upheld on Saturday the preventive detention of Evandro Gabriel Ferreira, suspected of killing couple Leonardo de Oliveira Campos and Raiane Lins Farias Campos.
The bodies of the couple, aged 42 and 38, were found shot dead on Friday morning in the backyard of their home in a condominium in Ponte Alta, Gama. Residents reported hearing gunshots on Thursday afternoon.
Evandro Gabriel Ferreira, a 60-year-old businessman and neighbor of the victims, was arrested on suspicion of double homicide. During questioning, he denied involvement and claimed a gun had been planted in his house. He confirmed disputes with the victim over a wall and sidewalk, alleging that Leonardo had demanded a R$ 50,000 bribe.
The custody hearing took place on Saturday afternoon. According to the ruling, the gravity of the facts shows risk to public order and alternative precautionary measures are insufficient. The wake and burial are scheduled for Sunday at Cemitério Jardim Metropolitano Parque do Angico, in Santo Antônio do Descoberto, Goiás.
