HBO has renewed the drama series 'Industry' for a fifth and final season. The announcement comes as the show prepares to air its season 4 finale on March 1. Creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay expressed gratitude to their partners and fans for supporting the series over the years.
The renewal of 'Industry' for season 5 marks the end of the series after five seasons on HBO. Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, the show follows young graduates navigating the high-pressure world of international finance in London.
Season 4, which has averaged 1.7 million viewers per episode across U.S. platforms—about 30% more than season 3 at the same point—concludes on March 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and Max, airing one hour earlier than usual. The season's plot centers on Harper (Myha'la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela), who become entangled in a global cat-and-mouse game involving a new fintech company. Key characters include tech founder Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington) and executive Whitney Halberstram (Max Minghella).
In a joint statement, Down and Kay said: “We’re privileged to have joined the small, esteemed club of dramas that have run for five seasons on HBO.” They credited HBO executives including Casey Bloys, Frannie Orsi, Kara Buckley, Cela Dickinson, Sam Dolinger, Kathleen McCaffrey, and Max Barnes, as well as Jane Tranter and Bad Wolf. The creators added: “For some time now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.” They also thanked fans, crew, and cast for bringing the characters to life.
Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming, praised the series: “For four seasons, ‘Industry’ has thrilled us while examining power, money, politics, and class.” She highlighted the show's genre-bending appeal and the performances in season 4. Jane Tranter, executive producer and CEO of Bad Wolf, reflected: “When we first pitched the idea for ‘Industry’ to HBO... Over 10 years later, ‘Industry’ has more than proven this to be true.”
The cast for season 4 includes Myha'la, Marisa Abela, Kit Harington, Ken Leung, Max Minghella, Miriam Petche, Sagar Radia, Toheeb Jimoh, Charlie Heaton, Amy James-Kelly, Roger Barclay, Andrew Havill, Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, Jack Farthing, Stephen Campbell Moore, Claire Forlani, and Edward Holcroft. 'Industry' is a Bad Wolf production for HBO and BBC, with executive producers including Tranter, Kate Crowther, Ryan Rasmussen, Kathleen McCaffrey, and Rebecca Ferguson. Directors for the season are Down, Kay, Michelle Savill, and Luke Snellin, while writers include Down, Kay, and Joseph Charlton.
