The Musina repatriation centre outside the Beitbridge Border Post will remain operational as undocumented migrants continue to arrive, Home Affairs manager Albert Matsaung said.
Home Affairs manager in Limpopo Albert Matsaung confirmed the centre processed and repatriated about 2 500 migrants on Friday alone. Most were Malawians and Zimbabweans.
Matsaung said migrants are still trickling in from Thohoyandou, Makhado and other parts of the country. He noted some people continue to assemble in the Western Cape, Gauteng and Limpopo province.
The centre will stay open until the Inter-Ministerial Committee makes a decision, Matsaung added.
