StillFire Brewing unveils Smyrna location after delays

StillFire Brewing has opened its second location in Smyrna, Georgia, a 25,000-square-foot brewery and taproom at 200 Village Green Circle SE. The site, which broke ground in September 2023, features beers, wines, cocktails, and Beto’s Tacos restaurant. Co-founder Aaron Bisges described it as a community gathering space for all ages.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for StillFire Brewing Smyrna took place on Thursday, marking the culmination of a project initiated about five years ago with the first call to the city. In January 2022, the company purchased the one-acre property along Atlanta Road, near the Smyrna Community Center, for $600,000, following a 5-2 City Council vote. Construction delays stemmed from rising costs, material prices, and banking changes.

Founded by Randall and Angela Veugeler in Suwanee, StillFire has earned over 80 awards across five countries, including a silver medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup. The new two-story facility includes on-tap beers, wines, a cocktail menu, multiple patios, and a beer garden. It also houses Beto’s Tacos, offering 20 taco varieties, quesadillas, burritos, salads, and more.

Aaron Bisges, chief operating officer and co-founder, emphasized its role beyond brewing. “This is not a brewery. This is a community gathering space. This is for neighbors, friends, family, any walk of life, any age to come share a pint, share a drink, or not, enjoy the live entertainment and get to know people, new and old, and stay connected,” he said. Planned events include Atlanta Braves watch parties, Oktoberfest, a “dog days of summer” event, and weekly trivia. The venue is family- and dog-friendly, with live music, non-alcoholic options like root beer for children, and rentable spaces for private events such as birthdays.

Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton praised the addition during the ceremony, toasting with Bisges. “This has been no small feat to get this thing off the ground... this is going to be the last piece of this part of the downtown that brings this community together,” Norton said. He added that it would benefit nearby businesses in the Smyrna Market Village by drawing more visitors.

Matt Koehn, pastor of Water Stone Church and a FireStarters Social Club member, offered a prayer and noted the venue’s potential for connection. “When people get together and gather, you never know what kind of sparks are gonna generate after that,” he said. The exclusive club, limited to the first 200 members, requires a $2,000 initiation fee and provides perks like exclusive merchandise, discounts, free event entry, and one free beer per visit.

The grand opening is scheduled for March 13 from noon to midnight, featuring live music, coffee, a food truck, and the release of “Dirt Pile IPA.” Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
