TNI commander instructs alert level 1 over Middle East escalation

A telegram from the TNI Commander orders all units to enter alert level 1 to anticipate escalating conflict in the Middle East, containing seven instruction points. TNI Headquarters Information Center Head Brigjen Aulia Dwi Nasrullah stated that the military remains operationally ready, though he did not directly confirm the alert status.

Jakarta – TNI Headquarters Information Center Head Brigjen TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah responded to reports of a circulating telegram from the TNI Commander, numbered TR/283/2026. The telegram instructs alert level 1 for all TNI units to anticipate escalation in the Middle East conflict.

In an interview with ANTARA on Saturday, Aulia emphasized the TNI's primary duty to protect the nation and society from foreign threats. "TNI bertugas secara profesional dan responsif, yang diwujudkan dengan senantiasa memelihara kemampuan dan kekuatan agar selalu siap operasional, serta siap siaga mengantisipasi perkembangan di lingkungan strategis internasional, regional, maupun nasional," he said.

He added that one of the TNI's efforts is conducting routine roll calls to check troop readiness. However, when pressed further on the veracity of the alert level 1 status, Aulia provided no response.

The telegram includes seven instruction points. One of them requires the TNI Main Operational Command Chief to prepare personnel and military equipment in their units and conduct patrols at strategic vital objects and economic centers, including airports, sea or river ports, train stations, bus terminals, and PLN offices.
