UC Davis women's indoor track and field team concluded a strong performance at the Battleborn Classic in Reno, Nevada, with Maya Shinnick resetting her own 400m dash school record. Kylee Davis claimed gold in the high jump, while the distance runners showed depth in the 3000m. The team also competed at the Husky Invite in Seattle.
The UC Davis Aggies wrapped up their weekend at the Battleborn Classic with several standout performances. Maya Shinnick shattered her previous 400m dash program record, finishing second with a time of 53.71, nearly half a second faster than her prior mark. This marks the second time this season she has set a new standard in the event.
Kylee Davis secured first place in the B-Pit high jump, clearing 1.69m. She also earned a podium finish in the long jump on Friday, highlighting her versatility.
In the 800m run, Dominika Janik placed sixth with a time of 2:13.85 as the only Aggie competitor in the event.
The 3000m run showcased the team's distance strength, with Brooke Butler taking seventh in 10:48.10 and Kiah Aiken eighth in 10:56.31.
Field events saw Maya Ifo-Desai lead the shot put with 13.07m, followed by Chinyere Egbuziem at 11.91m.
The 4x400m relay team of Ashleigh Christy, Dominika Janik, Ava Reichow, and Maya Shinnick finished eighth in 3:51.17.
At the concurrent Husky Invite in Seattle, Fiona McGrath ran the mile in 5:01.15.
Looking ahead, the Aggies prepare for the MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championships in Reno on February 28 and March 1.
