Wildlight Entertainment releases Highguard update 1.006

Developer Wildlight Entertainment has issued update 1.006 for Highguard on February 12, 2026, introducing technical improvements, balance adjustments, and bug fixes. The patch aims to enhance performance and gameplay flow across platforms. Console versions reach complete version 1.006.000.

Wildlight Entertainment deployed Highguard update 1.006 on February 12, 2026, focusing on technical enhancements and balance tweaks to improve player experience.

In technical updates, desktop users can now enable 'High Performance Mouse Input Polling' in the settings menu. According to the developer note, this feature polls mouse inputs on a separate thread to potentially reduce perceived latency on systems with high poll-rate mice, though it remains disabled by default to avoid conflicts with overlays or window focusing. Visual bugs affecting emotes and animations at low or medium view distance settings have been resolved. Desktop players can select FSR as an anti-aliasing method, extending options previously limited to NVIDIA users with TSR and DLSS; AMD GPUs with supported cards will use FSR4, overriding internal resolution with a new sharpness tunable. During matches, frame rates are no longer capped at 30 FPS when the game runs in the background, addressing focus-stealing issues on Windows, while the max FPS setting remains adjustable. Match load times have been optimized across all platforms, alongside additional crash fixes.

Gameplay changes shorten the Gear Up phase to 90 seconds from 120, with point-of-interest waypoints fixed to the Shieldbreaker formation site and exclusive loot spawns there. Respawn times drop to 15 seconds from 20 during Gear Up and formation phases. Raids now conclude after one generator explosion, teleporting attackers home and resetting to Gear Up, though destroying the Anchor Stone can still secure victory in one raid. Quality-of-life additions include assist and damage stats on end-match podiums, extended rejoin windows for disconnects, reformatted success rates in stats without decimals, and boosted kills/assists points for Bronze and Silver ranks.

Character balances adjust Ekon's Dread passive to trigger below 50% enemy health from 100%, reducing scan frequency and protecting revived allies. Kai's Ice Wall gains health to 400 from 300, with chunks at 50 from 40. Mara's Sacrifice passive extends to 10 meters from 8. Atticus's Shockspear tactical sees cooldown reduced to 45 seconds from 60 but charges cut to 2 from 3. Condor's passive detection range increases to 60 meters from 40; Soaring Guardian ultimate improves with quicker bird-form transitions, faster lateral movement and smoke projectiles, a HUD indicator for enemies in smoke, and reduced use of the phrase 'baddies.' For Redmane, Pounce tactical cooldown drops to 45 seconds from 60 with charges to 2 from 3, plus longer weapon raise after leaps and faster ranged leap travel. Forest Wisps target enemies more reliably and twice as fast, with increased projectile speeds for Wisps and Tree Walker ultimate; Tree Walker's cast animation shortens, limited to two active at once.

Firing Range updates allow more character abilities to interact with dummies, including Condor's ultimate highlighting them in smoke and Redmane abilities hitting targets.

Bug fixes cover UI improvements for reporting and blocking, visibility issues on ziplines, Barghast emote effects on low settings, distorted basebreaker trails, hitches from rapid mouse movement, incorrect weapon skins, Redmane getting stuck during leaps, low-view-distance animations, and UI message overlaps.

Separately, the studio announced layoffs weeks after Highguard's release.
