The Argentine Senate approved Víctor Pesino's nomination on Thursday by 35 votes in favor and 32 against. The judge will serve five more years in the National Chamber of Labor Appeals after ruling against a CGT injunction on the labor reform.
The vote took place during the July 16, 2026 session. Pesino had rejected the injunction filed by the CGT to halt changes promoted by Javier Milei's government.
Senator Patricia Bullrich defended the nomination. “Judges are not removed for their rulings,” she stated during the debate.
In addition to Pesino, the Senate approved 28 other judicial nominations and 27 diplomatic promotions. The appointments cover vacancies in courts across several provinces.
