Senators Cayetano and Tulfo trade barbs over flood control probe

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano and Sen. Erwin Tulfo traded barbs over resuming the Blue Ribbon Committee’s flood control probe while Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial is ongoing.

In a Facebook Live session, Cayetano said the public could not keep its cool after billions of public funds were allegedly lost to corruption. He added that every Filipino has asked for an accounting of the biggest corruption scandal in the country’s history.

Tulfo said Cayetano should relax, noting the Blue Ribbon Committee will convene after the July 27 joint session for President Marcos’ State of the Nation Address. He took over the probe from Sen. Panfilo Lacson.

Lacson posted on X to deny Cayetano’s remarks about his net worth and highlighted alleged ghost projects in Taguig. Cayetano branded Lacson and Tulfo as Malacañang “attack dogs.”
