Cecilia Pérez backs Kast proposal for Universidad de Chile stadium

Azul Azul president Cecilia Pérez backed President José Antonio Kast's call for a dedicated stadium for Universidad de Chile during the signing of the new sports corporations law.

Kast signed the law on May 27 and stressed that major clubs deserve their own facilities to grow. “We want several of the clubs in this period to achieve their facilities,” the President said. He also called for joint work with ministers Natalia Ducó and José García Ruminot to advance projects.

Pérez replied on her X account. “I agree with his words: the U deserves a stadium worthy of its history, because it will also be a great stadium for Chile. We will continue working to make it happen,” wrote the former sports minister.

A dedicated stadium has been a long-standing demand of Universidad de Chile. No initiative has succeeded so far under various Azul Azul administrations.
