Contracts signed for presidential inauguration at $5.95 million

The Administrative Department of the Presidency signed two contracts totaling $5.95 million to organize the August 7 transfer of power, in which Abelardo de la Espriella will assume the presidency replacing Gustavo Petro. The amount represents an 18% increase from 2022.

The main contract, worth $3.5 million, was awarded to the Corporación para el Desarrollo Regional. This entity will handle the planning and production of protocolary events, including the presentation of credentials by foreign missions, the inauguration ceremony and the farewell for the outgoing president at the Casa de Nariño.

A second contract, for $2.45 million, was signed with Inravisión, formerly RTVC, to cover communications, press, audiovisual production and television broadcast services. Both agreements explicitly exclude any activities at military facilities.

The total cost exceeds the 2022 figure by $950 million, when $3.5 million went to Plaza Mayor Medellín and $1.5 million to RTVC. The ceremony is scheduled for August 7.
