Health Minister Guillermo Jaramillo held a public broadcast to present sector advances despite the suspension of transition meetings by President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella.
Jaramillo conducted the event called "Empalme ante el pueblo" alongside officials including Daniel Quintero Calle, Félix León Martínez Martín and Jaime Urrego. During the broadcast he defended the process and expressed discontent over the absence of the incoming team.
The minister criticized the President-elect for public threats to jail him and stated that "they built a campaign based on lies". He also noted that "being a citizen and not a judge or prosecutor, he cannot label me a thief".
Jaramillo highlighted achievements such as the recovery of health posts, focus on prevention and primary care, and the investment of 15.27 trillion pesos in hospitals and ambulances. He expressed concern over possible public spending cuts under the new government.
