Leapher Yachts, a Dutch builder established in 2022, has launched its inaugural vessel, the 198-foot Horizon II. This Navix60 explorer yacht offers a 9,000-nautical-mile range and 40 days of autonomy at sea. The launch marks a key milestone for the eco-focused yard.
Leapher Yachts marked a significant achievement with the launch of Horizon II on February 20, 2026. Founded by Yiannis Andriotis in 2022, the company acquired a yard in Tolkamer, previously owned by cruise ship producer De Hoop. The keel for this first build was laid in 2023, following three years of construction.
Previously known as Lazarus, Horizon II embodies Leapher's commitment to eco-friendly explorer yachts. The yard plans to produce a limited number annually, with models including the Navix60 and the smaller Navix50. Naval architecture came from Van Oossanen Naval Architects and O7 Designers, while Cor D. Rover handled exterior and interior design. The yacht features an ice-class steel hull suited for high-latitude waters.
Equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric system, Horizon II includes 600 kWh of lithium-ion batteries for silent, emissions-free operation. It can cruise 15 nautical miles at 6 knots in electric mode or run quietly at anchor. Four Scania Sever electric motors provide 2,800 kW, enabling a top speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.
The interior spans 1,710 GT, accommodating 14 guests in seven staterooms and 17 crew members. The owner's suite on the main deck includes dual bathrooms, a walk-in closet, and an office convertible to an observation room. Amenities feature a wellness area with sauna and gym, a diving room, mud room, and a 2,200-square-foot beach club. The vessel can carry two tenders and a helicopter.
"As the first unit of the shipyard’s NAVIX60 platform, Horizon II represents the culmination of years of planning, engineering, and hands-on craftsmanship," Leapher stated. "From initial concept sketches to hull construction and final detailing, the project reflects Leapher’s ambition to establish itself in the global explorer yacht market with a platform built around strength, range, and long-term reliability."
Following the launch, Horizon II will undergo outfitting, commissioning, and sea trials later in 2026.
