New 5E adventures feature mass combat and dream demons

This week brings a selection of new 5E-compatible tabletop adventures and supplements, including tools for handling large-scale battles and story-driven quests. Releases cover themes from cooperative magic items to quick one-shot scenarios. Published on February 27, 2026, these additions aim to enhance gameplay for Dungeons & Dragons players.

The latest batch of 5E-compatible products introduces variety for tabletop role-playing sessions. Among them is 'Hordes & Armies,' a supplement designed to manage mass combat encounters. It provides over 10 stat blocks that adapt low-level infantry creatures into larger hordes using a variant of the swarm mechanic, allowing players to simulate mowing down waves of foes while keeping gameplay manageable.

'Call of the Netherdeep' draws inspiration from the Critical Role series. The adventure starts in the Wastes of Xhorhas and leads to the city of Ank’Harel on the continent of Marquet, then into the Netherdeep—a realm of gloom, corruption, and sorrow. The plot involves a forgotten champion of the gods, imprisoned in the depths of Exandria after being awakened by mortal greed, with the red moon of Ruidus influencing events.

In 'The Dream Demon,' players infiltrate a little girl’s dreams to confront an invading demon threatening her with eternal sleep. This setting-neutral module suits 3-5 characters of 5th level and focuses on expelling the entity before it takes full control.

'One-Shot Wonders' offers short adventures lasting around three hours, suitable for levels 1 to 20. Each scenario fits on two pages or less, featuring clean layouts and fresh plot twists, ideal for sessions with limited preparation time.

'Encounters at a Glance: Into the Wild' includes 25 ready-to-run mountain travel encounters. These provide plot points, puzzles, stat blocks, rewards, NPCs, complications, and mini-games without requiring advance study.

Finally, the 'Holiday Hoards: Fellowship Deck' contains 56 printable magic items that promote teamwork. Written for 5E and suitable for all levels, the items support allies, share power, and reward cooperation among healers, leaders, protectors, martials, and casters. They can serve as treasure, quest rewards, or character gifts.
