On the March 7, 2026 episode of AEW Collision, Tommaso Ciampa turned heel by attacking Mark Briscoe following a loss to Daniel Garcia. The incident referenced Ciampa's past NXT betrayal and led to an announced upcoming match. Ciampa later posted a promo video expressing frustration and declaring the Psycho Killer alive.
The event unfolded on the March 7, 2026 edition of AEW Collision, where Tommaso Ciampa faced Daniel Garcia in the ring, with Mark Briscoe providing commentary. All three competitors are former TNT Champions. During the match, a verbal exchange between Garcia and Briscoe escalated, resulting in Briscoe positioning himself on the ring apron. Ciampa was then thrown into Briscoe, allowing Garcia to secure a quick pinfall victory.
Post-match, Briscoe extended a handshake to Ciampa in an attempt to de-escalate tensions, but Ciampa rejected it by swatting the hand away. As Ciampa engaged in a staredown with FTR in the aisle, Briscoe initially stood beside him. However, Ciampa suddenly attacked, throwing Briscoe's chicken gimmick into the video wall, delivering a running knee strike, spitting on Briscoe's bandana, and wiping his backside with it. This sequence nodded to Ciampa's 2017 NXT TakeOver: Chicago betrayal of Johnny Gargano.
In a subsequent social media video from his car, Ciampa addressed the incident, stating, "I’m already sick of it. Why? Why, Mark? Why? What about me? Tonight was my chance. How do i get a rematch for my TNT title with a loss tonight?" He continued, "Mark, you had your chance. Matter of fact, you had seven chances and you lost. It is time for you to move on. Time for you to go away and if you can’t figure out how to do that on your own, allow me to help you go away." Ciampa expressed exhaustion from pretending, adding, "I’m the best damn wrestler alive and nobody, not a soul... gives me the respect that I deserve." He concluded, "The psycho killer is alive."
AEW announced that Ciampa and FTR will face Briscoe and the Young Bucks on the upcoming Dynamite episode, building toward AEW Revolution. Ciampa, who debuted in AEW weeks prior, now appears positioned as a villain in the promotion.
