Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 17e as a successor to the iPhone 16e, expected about a year after the previous model's announcement. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, in his latest Power On newsletter, reports that the iPhone 17e is "due imminently" and will retain the entry-level price of $599, the same as its predecessor.
Key upgrades include the A19 chip, which is also used in the base iPhone 17 model, along with MagSafe charging capabilities. The phone will incorporate Apple's newest in-house cellular and wireless chips, enhancing connectivity. These improvements address some shortcomings of the iPhone 16e, such as its limited camera features when compared to the iPhone 17 released shortly after.
