Belfast stabbing leads to protests and calls for calm

A man was stabbed in Belfast in an attack that prompted immediate calls for anti-immigration protests across Northern Ireland. Police detained a Sudanese suspect and appealed for calm as some demonstrators gathered and set vehicles on fire.

Northern Ireland police said Tuesday they had arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of attempted murder.
