IKEA launches reinvented throw rug in kids' collection

IKEA has introduced a new fluffy rug from its GREJSIMOJS kids’ collection, reimagining classic play mats with organic shapes resembling foliage, meadows, and water. The design appeals to adults for living rooms or bedrooms while inspiring children's play. Priced under $160, it measures over 85 inches by 60 inches.

The new GREJSIMOJS rug draws from childhood play mats featuring roads, grass, and buildings for toy cars. This version uses tufted textures and color variations to mimic lush foliage, rolling meadows, and fresh bodies of water, creating an engaging surface for kids in playrooms.

Instagram user Cici shared her enthusiasm, writing, “Hello, new rug! This rug is from IKEA’s newest collection!” She added, “Great price for [a] detailed rug and that size! I had to get it! It will go [in the] living room but for now it can stay in [the] playroom.”

Early reviews highlight its appeal beyond children's spaces. One shopper noted, “It’s even nicer and cooler in person,” saying it beat expectations. Another commented, “I put it diagonally under my bed for myself and it’s great. It’s thoughtfully designed for children, soft to the touch, odorless, non-slip, and fully washable. It was a great purchase.”

At just under $160, the rug offers substantial size at over 85 inches by 60 inches, resembling high-end organic designs. It is part of IKEA’s efforts to blend playful elements with mature aesthetics, making it versatile for home use. Pricing and availability may change.
