Neepsend craft beer festival returns to Sheffield

The Neepsend Craft Beer Festival is back for its second year, running on February 27-28 at Peddler Warehouse in Sheffield. The event will feature over 100 beers from local and UK breweries, along with cider, cask ales, food, and live music. Organizers highlight it as Sheffield's freshest beer festival, emphasizing direct interactions with brewers.

Sheffield's craft beer scene takes center stage as the Neepsend Craft Beer Festival returns for the second consecutive year. Scheduled for February 27-28 at Peddler Warehouse, the two-day event celebrates the city's high concentration of breweries per capita and its burgeoning independent brewing community.

The festival opens on Friday from 6pm to 11pm and continues on Saturday from noon to 11pm. Attendees can sample more than 100 beers, including rare and unreleased options poured directly by brewery teams. A key focus is on Sheffield-based independents, with confirmed participants Loxley Brewery and Bradfield Brewery. Joining them are breweries from across the UK, such as Pomona Island, Wylam Brewery, and Lost Cause.

Beyond beers, the lineup includes a specialty cider bar and a South Yorkshire cask showcase, where local entries compete for a People's Cask Award determined by visitor votes. Food options come from vendors like Spicy Biker and The Taco Trailer, while live entertainment features Sheffield musicians, including sets from Footprint Jazz Club.

Tickets cost £13.45 and grant entry, a festival glass, one drink token, and a programme. Under-18s enter free with a responsible adult but must depart by 9pm. Visitors will have opportunities to meet brewers and learn about the brewing process.

Patrick Doody, 20, shared his enthusiasm: “I’ve heard a lot about Sheffield’s breweries and the local beer scene. The main thing for me is trying new beers you can’t usually get anywhere else. I’m also excited about the festival atmosphere with so many different options all in one place.”

By uniting local and national breweries with cider, cask ales, street food, and music, the festival aims to spotlight Sheffield's brewing heritage over the weekend.
