Superyacht Flying Fox emerges from refit under new name Hadar

The 136-meter superyacht formerly known as Flying Fox has completed a five-month refit at Lürssen's facilities in Hamburg, emerging on March 9 with a new name, Hadar, and a fresh white exterior. This transformation follows a change in ownership last year and marks a new chapter for the vessel, which has long been one of the largest yachts available for charter. Details of the refit remain confidential, but the yacht is now heading to the UK for its inaugural voyage under the new name.

On March 9, the superyacht Hadar, previously Flying Fox, left the Lürssen shipyard in Hamburg after undergoing a five-month refit. Measuring 446.2 feet (136 meters), the vessel debuted a streamlined white exterior, a shift from its earlier vibrant colors. This update signals the beginning of a new era for the yacht, launched in 2019 and renowned for its size and luxury features.

The refit followed a secretive off-market ownership change in June 2025, after which the yacht entered the yard in September. Earlier, in June 2022, it was listed as blocked property due to ties with Imperial Yachts. Despite such spotlight moments, Hadar has earned accolades, including the Best Displacement Motor Yacht over 2,000 gross tons at the 2020 World Superyacht Awards and Best Charter Yacht in the Robb Report's Best of the Best that year. It ranks 19th on the YachtBuyer YB100 list by gross tonnage and has been the largest Lürssen charter yacht since its debut, as well as the world's biggest yacht rental until the anticipated arrival of the 194.9-meter Rev Ocean in 2027.

Hadar offers extensive amenities for charter guests, such as a 12-meter swimming pool, twin helipads, a 400-square-meter wellness area, an owner's apartment, luxurious guest cabins, a cinema with D-box seating, an elevator, a fireplace, and a spacious beach club. It has hosted notable figures like Beyoncé and explored destinations including the Seychelles, Maldives, and Malaysian routes. With ample deck space, it suits various groups, from family trips to corporate events.

Currently en route to the UK, Hadar is poised for continued prominence in luxury charters, though specifics of additional refit changes are not disclosed.
