Avelo Airlines has extended its flight schedule through mid-November 2026, adding 30 destinations across the United States and Puerto Rico. The ultra-low-cost carrier now offers one-way fares starting at $42 to cities including Florida, Michigan, and Illinois. This expansion enhances connectivity for leisure and business travelers via smaller airports.
Avelo Airlines, founded in 2021, announced on February 26-27, 2026, an extension of its flight schedule through mid-November 2026, enabling bookings to 30 destinations. The airline, which serves 32 cities in 12 states and Puerto Rico, focuses on non-stop flights to smaller airports to avoid congestion at major hubs.
Key new routes include Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) to Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) in Florida, starting February 11, 2026, operated twice weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Other destinations now available are Albany, New York (ALB); Atlanta, Georgia (ATL); Charleston, South Carolina (CHS); Chicago, Illinois (ORD); Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (DFW); Daytona Beach, Florida (DAB); and more, such as Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Nashville, Tennessee (BNA), and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU).
Avelo emphasizes affordability, with one-way tickets from $42, and flexibility in services like priority boarding and extra legroom seats up to 36 inches. The carrier reported the lowest U.S. flight cancellation rate of 0.48% in 2024 and ranked in the top three for on-time arrivals in 2025. Its fleet of 22 Boeing 737 aircraft supports this reliability, with plans for Embraer 195-E2 additions in 2028.
This expansion boosts tourism and economic ties, particularly between regions like Michigan and Florida, by providing direct access to beaches, theme parks, and cultural sites. Avelo launched its Avelo PLUS membership in fall 2025, offering benefits like discounted fares and free seating for children under 14 with adults. Travelers can book online for autumn getaways or business trips, aligning with rising demand for budget-friendly domestic travel.
