Carlos Alcaraz has received high praise from tennis coach Rick Macci, who coached Serena and Venus Williams among others. Writing on Twitter/X, Macci stated: “Carlos has raised the bar and jolted the sport like no other. From Pro level to club level he has brought a new level of chess delivering more not less with a complete style and a winning smile firing quick dips flips drops and pops and most of he ALL just loves to BALL.”
At 22 years old, Alcaraz is a seven-time Grand Slam singles champion, including two French Open, two Wimbledon, two US Open, and his first Australian Open title in February 2026. This victory made him the sixth man in the Open Era to complete the Career Grand Slam and the youngest to do so. He reached world No. 1 at age 19 after the 2022 US Open and has spent 60 weeks at the top, the second-youngest to achieve that mark.
Alcaraz started 2026 unbeaten with a 12-0 record, following his Australian Open win with the Qatar Open title. Sinner reached the Qatar Open quarter-finals in 2026 before losing to Jakub Mensik. Both players are expected to contend at Indian Wells and the Miami Open, where Alcaraz won in 2022 and Sinner in 2024.
