Double Dog Coffee is set to open its new location at 217 N. Neches St. this Friday, March 6, marking a significant step for the family-run business. The move brings the coffee roaster next door, allowing beans to be roasted just steps from the serving area. Customers can expect specials including $2 off drinks and free cream puffs while supplies last.
The Gregory family, owners of Double Dog Coffee, have relocated their shop to the building known as 'The Dog House' on the corner of Peach and N. Neches streets in Coleman. This grand opening on March 6 represents a key milestone, consolidating operations in one spot after previous expansions.
The new setup includes moving Cameron Hanson's coffee roaster to an adjacent space, streamlining the process from roasting to serving. 'It makes a difference having everything right here,' Cameron said. 'We roast it, bag it and it goes straight into the shop.' This proximity ensures fresher beans for customers.
Jennifer Hanson highlighted the effort involved: 'It’s been a lot of work,' she said. 'But it’s exciting to see it all coming together in one place.' The shop will operate from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a drive-thru accessible from Peach Street and exiting onto Neches.
Keenan Gregory, who manages operations and construction, noted the benefits: 'This gives us space to do things the right way and keep building.' For Colleen, the move holds personal significance: 'We really couldn’t have gotten here without the community,' she said. 'I’m just really thankful that I get to do something I love every day.'
To celebrate, every drink will be $2 off, and a free 'Cream Pup'—Kora's term for cream puffs—will come with each purchase while supplies last. These treats will also join the weekend menu permanently. The relocation maintains the same coffee quality and family atmosphere at the new address.
