The boyband Five has been announced as the headline act for the opening night of the Discovery Festival in Plymouth. The event, set for June 12-14 at Central Park, will feature Blue and The Wanted 2.0 on Friday, June 12. Tickets go on sale February 27.
The Discovery Festival, which held its inaugural event in Dundee, Scotland last summer, is expanding to Plymouth this summer with three days of live music at Central Park from June 12-14.
The Friday lineup, revealed recently, includes the boybands Blue and The Wanted 2.0, with Five headlining the opening night. Five, known for hits such as 'Keep On Movin'', 'Everybody Get Up', and 'If Ya Gettin' Down', have a career spanning over 25 years. Following their comeback tour in 2025, the band expressed enthusiasm about the performance. "Headlining Friday in Plymouth feels incredible for us. Having last performed in Plymouth in 2013 we can’t wait to see you all again," the band stated. "The love we’ve felt on this comeback tour has been overwhelming and reminded us just how special our fans are. We can’t wait to bring that energy to Discovery Festival and open the weekend in style."
Blue marks 25 years since their debut album 'All Rise' and recently released their seventh studio album, 'Reflections', last month. The Wanted 2.0, featuring Max George and Siva Kaneswaran from the original five-piece formed in 2009, will open the night with hits like 'All Time Low' and 'Glad You Came'.
Saturday, June 13, features an '80s Calling' theme with Kim Wilde, Level 42, and headline act Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD). Liz Hobbs MBE, CEO of Discovery Festival Ltd, commented: "After the huge excitement of our first announcement, we’re back with the next wave for Discovery Festival in Plymouth, and it’s amazing. Get ready for Five, Blue, and The Wanted 2.0 coming to Central Park in June. These chart-topping legends will have festivalgoers dancing, cheering, and singing every anthem loud and proud."
Day tickets for Friday start at £46 plus booking fees, available from February 27. Weekend tickets are £126 for general admission or £231 for VIP, plus fees. Tickets can be purchased via the Discovery Festival website, Ticketmaster, or Eventim. Limited VIP space is adjacent to the stage, and one picnic chair per person is allowed in the main area.
