A five-year-old girl was seriously injured in a suspected crime in Furutorpsparken in Helsingborg on Monday. She was taken by ambulance to Helsingborgs Lasarett. Police cordoned off the area and investigated the incident as a suspected crime.
The incident occurred at 14.46 on Monday. Witnesses heard screams from the park and saw an injured girl taken away in an ambulance. Police had several patrols on site and cordoned off a large area around the playground.
Police spokesperson Jakob Palmgren said it was a suspected crime. He stated there was no danger to the public but would not comment on whether anyone had been detained.
According to reports to Aftonbladet the girl had been knifed. A boy under 15 was detained but later released and handed over to social services. By 18.00 police had lifted the cordons.
