Gustavo Fuentes, former general director of Andalucía Digital Multimedia, appeared Tuesday before the Court of Violence Against Women in Seville on alleged charges of sexual assault and harassment of a reporter over ten years.
Fuentes's statement lasted about an hour. He answered only questions from his lawyer, the judge and the prosecution, and avoided those from the complainant's counsel. Two witnesses presented by the prosecution had earlier confirmed the episodes of sexual assault and harassment described by the journalist.
Dozens of Canal Sur workers gathered outside the courthouse from 11 a.m. to support the victim and demand safe workplaces. Fuentes arrived at 8.30 a.m. and left through a side door to avoid the media.
The complaint was filed in January and includes three assaults between 2013 and 2023, plus WhatsApp messages with sexual content since 2018. The judge excluded workplace harassment from the investigation.
