Spanish Social Security affiliation reaches a record 22.47 million positions, with Latin Americans contributing 692,000 jobs since 2019.
Latin Americans now represent 1.2 million affiliates, surpassing Europeans for the first time. In the past year, Spain added 605,000 contributors, of which 199,000 are of Latin American origin.
Colombia leads the incorporations with 72,700 new affiliates since June 2025. The extraordinary regularization process closed on June 30, 2026 has already incorporated 159,000 foreigners, two thirds from Latin America.
Testimonies such as that of Luis Loreto, a 46-year-old Venezuelan, highlight the effort: “We come with a lot of drive, we have soul and determination to work in this country.” Experts like Mónica Monguí warn that the pace will depend on access to housing and migration policies.
