Lillån IBK had everything in its own hands ahead of Sunday's match against Lindome in the women's southern Allsvenskan floorball league. However, the bottom team Lindome, fighting to avoid relegation, pulled off an upset at Idrottshuset and won 7–5 (1–2, 1–1, 3–4).
This result means Lillån could not secure a place in the SSL qualification for the second year in a row. Despite the loss, the team still holds its own fate in the standings. To reach the qualification, a victory against the league leaders is now required in the final round.
Forward Joanna Hjelm commented on the situation: 'If we are to go far in a qualification, we must be able to beat these top teams too.'
The match was crucial for both teams, but Lindome's surprising win complicates Lillån's path to qualification. Lillån was in a strong position before the meeting but failed to capitalize against the lower-ranked opponent.
