Houston black metal band Necrofier has released a music video for 'Fires of the Apocalypse, Light My Path I,' the opening track of their third album Transcend Into Oblivion, out now via Metal Blade Records. This follows their earlier single and video for 'Fires of the Apocalypse, Light My Path III.' The album's three-part narrative explores awakening, struggle, and rebirth in a Luciferian 'dark night of the soul.'
Necrofier sharpens their Scandinavian-inspired black metal with Texan intensity on Transcend Into Oblivion, recorded in Houston and mixed in Brooklyn. The video highlights the first part of the album's 'Fires of the Apocalypse' trilogy, depicting the initial spark of inner transformation. Vocalist/guitarist Bakka states: "New beginnings burn deep in the soul."
The album follows the band's evolution since 2018. It features trilogies for awakening ('Fires of the Apocalypse'), struggle ('Servants of Darkness'), and rebirth ('Horns of Destruction'), bridged by interludes.
Necrofier has upcoming shows: March 28, 2026, at White Oak Music Hall Lawn in Houston with Acid Bath, Obituary, and High On Fire; May 16 at San Luis Metal Festival in Mexico; and May 22 at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore. A European tour follows.
