On the par-5 18th, Reed opted to lay up from 272 yards due to water hazards on the left, then hit a wedge to 7 feet for another birdie. These efforts gave him a total score of 12-under 132 after two rounds.
Reed leads by one shot over Sweden's Joakim Lagergren, who posted a 66 in the second round. New Zealand's Daniel Hillier (69) and South Africa's Richard Sterne (66) trail by two strokes at 11-under.
This performance comes as Reed plays a full DP World Tour schedule this year, with the goal of regaining his PGA Tour membership.
