The initiative targets one million hectares of corn planting, building on the previous year's surplus production. The Simultaneous Corn Planting Event for the First Quarter of 2026 was held nationwide in Indonesia, led by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to strengthen national food security. Kapolri General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the main event in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, stating it as Polri's commitment to fulfilling President Prabowo's targets. In 2025, Polri-supervised corn fields produced 3,975,934 tons from 661,122 hectares, contributing to a national surplus of 470,000 tons. Bulog absorbed 101,713 tons, with remaining stock at 4.5 million tons. For 2026, Polri targets completing one million hectares, with potential production exceeding 4 million tons.
In Bekasi, West Java, 215 farmers from 44 groups received aid including 4 hand tractors, 4 water pumps, 5 hand sprayers, superior seeds, and high-quality fertilizer. Wakapolri Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo emphasized Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) support from Himbara banks to break the middlemen chain. "With strong capital through KUR, farmers now have a financial foundation to continue contributing to national food sovereignty," Dedi stated.
Collaboration involved Catholic Youth in Cianjur, planting on 80 hectares. Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Akhmad Alexander Yurikho Hadi described it as synergy for food security and economic impact. The program supports the MBG by providing feed for broiler and layer chickens, anticipating global conflicts.
