Samsung unveiled three new foldable phones and two smartwatches at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22. The lineup includes a redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a wider form factor, alongside updated Ultra and Flip models. Prices rose across the board amid higher component costs.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at $1,900 for 256GB storage and features a 4:3 aspect ratio inner display. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra begins at $2,100 and includes a 200-megapixel main camera plus a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 launches at $1,200 and is lighter and thinner than its predecessor.
Samsung attributed the $100 price increases on most models to rising memory and component costs driven by AI demand. All three phones run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip and ship with Android 17 and One UI 9.
The company also revealed the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at $700 and the Galaxy Watch 9 starting at $380. Preorders for the phones and watches begin immediately, with availability set for August 7.
