A traffic accident occurred today in Dese, Sankura woreda, Silte zone, in central Ethiopia. According to Sajin Abdulshukur Hamdala, head of the Sankura woreda traffic police station, the incident involved a public minibus traveling from Dese town to Halaba and returning, which collided with a minibus.
The crash happened around 5:20 PM local time. It resulted in five deaths, two severe injuries, and two minor injuries. The injured individuals are being treated at health facilities in the area.
Police have begun a swift investigation into the accident. Additional arrest procedures are underway. This incident highlights challenges faced by public minibuses in the region.
