A woman has been remanded in custody on probable cause for murder in Mora municipality after a victim died.
Mora District Court decided on Wednesday to remand the woman in custody on probable cause for murder. She was initially detained last week for attempted murder following a police operation on July 12.
The victim died four days later, prompting the prosecutor to change the charge to murder. The woman disputes the remand request and argues the crime should be classified as child manslaughter.
Prosecutor Kristina Modig declined to comment citing preliminary investigation secrecy. The victim's representative, lawyer Christian Almström, called the incident deeply tragic but chose not to comment further.
