The 2026 Genesis Invitational begins on February 19 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, marking the tournament's 100th anniversary as a PGA Tour Signature Event. Hosted by Tiger Woods, the event features a world-class field headlined by Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, with Genesis continuing as title sponsor through 2030. The Genesis Invitational, originally the Los Angeles Open since 1926, returns to The Riviera Country Club for its 100th year, having been held there since 1973. As one of the PGA Tour's elite Signature Events, it offers a limited field of 72 players competing for a $20 million purse, including $4 million for the winner, who will also receive a 2026 GV80 Coupe Prestige Black.
Genesis, entering its 10th year as title partner since 2016, has extended its sponsorship through 2030. The brand, owned by Hyundai, became the PGA Tour's first global Official Vehicle and Official Mobility Partner in recent expansions. "This year marks two milestones that are especially meaningful: 100 years of championship golf in Los Angeles, and 10 years of Genesis as title partner of this iconic tournament," said José Muñoz, president and chief executive officer of Genesis. He highlighted the community's resilience following the 2025 Southern California wildfires.
The field includes World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, 2025 champion Ludvig Åberg, 2024 winner Hideki Matsuyama, and Korean players Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim, reflecting Genesis's heritage. Eighteen of the top 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking are competing.
In response to the wildfires, Genesis, TGR Live, and the PGA Tour launched California Rises, contributing over $8 million since inception. For 2026, Genesis pledges $1 million more, focusing on long-term recovery through organizations like the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. The Birdies for Good program donates $1,000 per birdie or eagle on holes 10, 14, 16, 17, and 18, with $25,000 for holes-in-one on 14 and 16.
Fan enhancements include expanded zones, digital scavenger hunts, TGL-style simulators, and Korean-inspired hospitality at the 14th Lounge with photo services and snacks. Tickets start at $130 for grounds passes via Ticketmaster, with discounts for children, students, and first responders; gates open at 7 a.m. daily.
