Netflix unveiled a surprise teaser for 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' during the 2026 Super Bowl, featuring Brad Pitt reprising his role from Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.' The sequel, directed by David Fincher, picks up in the 1970s with new cast members. The footage highlights Booth's laid-back adventures amid cheeky censored antics.
During the Super Bowl on February 9, 2026, Netflix dropped the first footage from 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth,' a sequel to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.' Brad Pitt returns as the cool stuntman Cliff Booth, first introduced in the original where he and Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, altered history by thwarting the Manson family murders in 1969.
The teaser, set to retro music, shows Booth relaxing at a bar, navigating a film set behind the scenes, and driving a derby car on a dirt track. It includes quick shots of nude women, cigarettes, middle fingers, guns, and cursing, all playfully censored. Elizabeth Debicki and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II appear in Old Hollywood attire, and there's a moment of Booth placing an Oscar on his desk.
Directed by David Fincher, who previously worked with Netflix on 'Mindhunter,' 'The Killer,' and 'Mank,' the film uses a script by Tarantino. The director is saving his 10th feature for later. The story shifts to the 1970s, without DiCaprio's Dalton, but with returning actor Timothy Olyphant as James Stacy. New cast includes Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, and JB Tadena.
Producers are Tarantino, Pitt, David Heyman, Ceán Chaffin, and Stacey Sher, with Erik Messerschmidt as cinematographer. Filming occurred on location in Los Angeles.
