President Prabowo Subianto delivered directives comprising eight key points to TNI and Polri leaders during the 2026 Leadership Meeting (Rapim) held at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on February 9, 2026. He emphasized synergy between the two forces, readiness to assist the public, and support for government programs. The event, attended by over 600 senior leaders, was held at the palace for the first time.
The 2026 TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting was held in the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, February 9, 2026, with attendance by over 600 leaders from various TNI and Polri units. This marked the first time the annual routine event was conducted at Istana Merdeka, typically alternating between TNI and Polri headquarters.
President Prabowo Subianto delivered directives outlined by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The eight main points included: first, appreciation for the swift disaster response by TNI-Polri; second, strengthening cohesion and synergy between TNI and Polri from the highest levels to the lowest ranks, particularly in Sumatra; third, readiness to promptly assist the public whenever needed as proof of public trust.
Fourth, support for key government programs such as the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG), Red and White Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives, People's Schools, food and energy sovereignty, and rural bridge construction. Fifth, fair law enforcement for all; sixth, implementation of the Indonesia ASRI (Safe, Healthy, Clean, Beautiful) program with local governments in various environments; seventh, safeguarding natural resources from illegal exploitation; and eighth, sustaining operational readiness.
"Whenever citizens need assistance, that is when TNI-Polri must immediately step in to help," President Prabowo stated, as relayed by Teddy.
Additionally, during a separate occasion at the event's sidelines, Army Chief of Staff General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak explained that one directive focused on providing rewards to meritorious or high-achieving personnel, such as extraordinary promotions (KPLB), school assignments, or certificates. These rewards are not necessarily periodic but can be given immediately for heroic actions or international achievements. "If there is an achievement, or work in disaster areas, (such assignments) are extraordinary, so they must be rewarded to bring happiness and recognition to the members," Maruli said at the palace complex on February 10, 2026.
The meeting served as a momentum to reinforce shared vision between the government and security forces in maintaining national stability and ensuring effective implementation of government programs.
